Yokohama Casino Hotel IR Resort Information

Admission and luggage inspection for the casino in Yokohama

Contents

1. Admission to enter Yokohama Casino

The casino hotel resort planned to open in Yokohama is going to be very similar to the casino in Singapore basically.

The casino in Singapore allows 21 years and older adults to enter and a 100 SGD admission fee applies only to citizens.

Also, the number of citizens that can enter annually is set as well.

At the same time, it’s free for foreign people to enter, but I heard that if you bring people under 21 years of age or children, you’ll be fined about 10,000 SGD.

For this reason, it can be thought that for the Yokohama Casino, they will charge Japanese to enter and only people who are 20 years of age and older will be allowed to enter.

If the casino becomes a facility that only foreign people can go into such as Korean casinos, then admission maybe charged to foreign people.

(However, only Kangwon Land lets citizens enter and admission is set as well.)

* As of April, 2018, LDP / Komeito decided to set an admission fee to casinos in Japan of 6,000 yen, the entry limit is up to three times in a week and 10 times in 28 days, My Number Card is used for identity verification, the game floor is up to 3% of IR and approved regions are up to two to three areas.

2. Baggage inspection at Yokohama Casino

The massive IR resorts in Macau and Las Vegas don’t have any strict baggage inspections at the entrance, but at the entrance of Yokohama Casino, there will be a simple baggage check just like with Singapore and the Philippines.

Also, in Singapore and Australia, your bag, hat and camera can generally be left at the front, but if necessary, you can bring a bag with valuables into the casino, so Yokohama casino will probably become that way.

In terms of hats, most casinos overseas don’t allow wearing them in the casino.

At the same time, cameras are not allowed at every casino in the world, so just as Korea and the Philippines are very strict about it, Japan will be the same and you would have to leave it with the front service.

Like casinos in Europe, the charge of leaving baggage (a couple of hundred yen) and jacket rending services (paid) will not be applied.

3. Passport checking at Yokohama Casino

Casinos in advanced countries such as Korea, Singapore and Australia often have passport checking at the entrance of the casino, however, those massive IR resorts in Macau and the Philippines have so many entrances to enter into the casino, so normally they don’t check passports.

Also, casinos in Europe put extra attention on security enhancement, so it is rare if they don’t have any passport checking system.

Therefore, it is thought that Yokohama Casino will apply passport checking.

4. Other

At massive IR facilities overseas, they often issue member’s card when you enter a casino, so you can earn points by playing games and going to restaurants.

I reckon that Yokohama Casino will probably consider issuing member’s cards for points as well.
